Instructions to perform Firmware Update
IMPORTANT WARRANTY INFORMATION
You must follow the following procedure exactly, otherwise you may
corrupt the firmware update and seriously damage your product. Neither
EPSON nor its affiliates will assume any responsability for any damages
that result from a Firmware update. Your use of this document and any
related Firmware file(s) is at your own risk. Any resulting repair will NOT
be covered by your warranty.
Please note that carrying out the upgrade should not cause loss of
stored files (images, movies or music) on your P-2000/P-4000. However,
it is recommended that you make a full backup of any data before you
proceed.
Introduction
You can check your existing firmware version in the bottom right of the
"Settings" menu of the P-2000/P-4000.An update is only possible to a
firmware with a higher version number. (see image below).
The following conditions must be met before you can update the firmware.
• The battery must be inserted into the P-2000/P-4000 and should be
fully charged
• The AC Adapter must be plugged in to the mains and connected to the
P-2000/P-4000
• A Compact Flash (CF) or Secure Digital (SD) memory card with a size
of 128MB or greater should be available and clear of data
