1.1. Overview
RIP (Raster Image Processor) is the equipment that converts PostScript codes from the desk top
publishing system into a printer language. The PS-7000 converts PostScript codes into the page
description language, following the chart shown below.

Chapter 5 Operation Principles
(1) Sends document information such as graphics,
character string, photograph, and color, to the
PostScript printer driver.
(2) Converts document information into PostScript
command, and sends it to the PS-7000.
(3) Analyzes the received PostScript command, and
break them down to each object such as simple
pictorial element, text, and photograph.
(4) Converts into the PS-7000 internal codes.
(5) Converts into bit map data.
(6) Adds the header of SRL language (exclusive to
BJ-W7000) and sends data to the printer.
