    ISDN lines to surf the Internet at 128/64 Kbps with PPP and MLPP protocolls. Donatello works as a multistandard modem/fax (up to 56,000 bps); when used as a fax, it complies with GR3 and V.17 to send and receive fax at 14400 bps. When used as a terminal adapter, Donatello works as a modem.

    ON the power switch on the rear panel. Check that the green LED PWR indicator light is on. For the next step see the section Software Installation. 2.1.2. DONATELLO INTERNAL ISA BUS Caution: Before removing the cover of any computer, turn-off and unplug the mains power cord.

    Donatello Installation 2.2. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION WINDOWS 95/NT4.0 DRIVER Before starting with the software installation, please read the file Readme.txt present on the Floppy Disk or the CD ROM included with the modem package. In this file you can read more details about the driver installation for the different versions of Windows 95 and also the latest release notes or driver upgrades not available at the time of printing this manual.

  • Page 15 3.4.2. AT COMMAND SET DESCRIPTION DIGITAL MODEM SECTION Attention All the characters following the letters ‘AT’ are commands. In AT command mode Donatello automatically detects the Computer speed and parity format. The Donatello will response using the same speed and parity format of AT command.

  • Page 21 The CALLER ID function is used to identify the originate of an incoming call. In order for this feature to work, both the originate and the answer Donatello must have their CALLER ID feature enable. Enabling the CALLER ID at the originate, allows the transmission of the originator’s telephone number.

    Donatello Description Enable long space disconnect. In non-error correction mode or in buffer mode, the modem will send a long space of four seconds prior to going on-hook. In error correction mode, the modem will send respond to the receipt of a long space (a break signal greater than 1,6 seconds) by going on-hook.

  • Page 32 Donatello Description BREAK SIGNAL SIZE \B1 to \B9 In non-error corrector mode, the modem will trasmit a break signal to the remote modem with a lenght in multiples of 100 ms according parameter specified. The command works in conjunction with the \K command. In error corrector mode, the modem will signal a break through the active error correction protocol, giving no indication of the length.

    Donatello Description results in the modem falling back to the speed buffered normal mode. Selects LAPM error corrector mode.     PSTN analog modem. This detection doesn't require any additional setup or special AT command. If the incoming call is originated by an ISDN modem, Donatello switch internally the serial interface of the computer to/from the digital section also if previously it was connected to the analog modem.

  • Page 49 During the test, the TEST led present on the front panel is ON; if the diagnostic test is ok, after 4 sec. the led is turned off, otherwise the led flash to indicate problems. On the Donatello, the diagnostic tests are activate using the AT commands from a terminal emulation.
