You may select here how the playback of the movie will appear
on your output device:
4:3 PS: You may only view the center area of the movie.
The edges are cut off. ("Pan-Scan").
4:3 LB: You may view the entire range of the movie in a
reduced version; therefore a black bar appears on the top
and bottom of the screen. ("Letter-Box").
16:9: Choose this option if you have a wide-screen TV.
Keep in mind that movies recorded in an aspect ratio of 4:
will display in the same 4: ratio. Therefore it will not popu-
late the entire screen of the wide-screen TV.
Note:
The setting "4:/PS" is not supported by all DVDs.
Password
You must create a password if you want to child-proof the
DVD-Player. The settings will be protected against use by
children and may be changed only by you.
To change the password you must first enter the default cur-
rent default password. The default password is "800".
Note:
If you forget your password you may deactive the child
saftey function by using the default password.
To change the password proceed as follows:
1.
Enter the current password using then number keys (Fig.
4/) of the remote control.
The password is displayed on the screen as "XXXX" to
prevent access by unauthorized individuals.

Confirm your entry with the OK key (Fig. 4/0).

Enter your new password now using the number keys (Fig.
4/) on the remote control.
Rating (Child Protection)
Some DVDs provide ratings for target groups. Applicable is the
same standard used for movie ratings (i.e. "Rated 1 years of
age and over").
If you activated the child protection, if available, the informa-
tion is read by the DVD and compared to your selected setting.
If the DVD is authorized for and older age group as indicated
in your settings the DVD will not play. You may choose from
following options:
KID SAF: Acceptable for children.
G: Acceptable for all age groups.
PG: Parental guidance recommended. Some passages
may not be suitable for smaller children.
PG 13: Parental guidance strongly recommended. Some
passages may not be suitable for children under 1.
PGR: Parental guidance is necessary.
R: Adolescents under 17 years of age may view this movie
only if accompanied by an adult.
