Thank you for choosing a Yamaha product. This guide explains how to update the Dante Accelerator
firmware.
Precautions (Please be sure to read this section first!)
 The user assumes full responsibility for the update.
 Update the firmware components one unit at a time.
 Please note that the device may be damaged if you fail to follow these instructions properly, or
disconnect the cable while the update is in progress.
 If the update fails, and the device still does not operate correctly even after you execute the update
again, please contact your Yamaha dealer.

     A computer connected to Dante Accelerator and fully operable  An Ethernet cable (CAT7 straight cable)  Firmware Download then extract the latest firmware from the following URL. http://www.yamahaproaudio.com/ Checking the product version number You can check the current Dante Accelerator product version number from the Dante Controller.
  • Page 3 Installing the Dante Firmware Update Manager Before you update the firmware, you will need to install the Dante Firmware Update Manager. Double-click the Dante Firmware Update Manager installer "DanteFirmwareUpdateManager-x.x.x.exe" (Windows) or "DanteFirmwareUpdateManaager_x-x-x.dmg" (Mac) downloaded in “Preparing for the update” and follow the on-screen instructions to install the firmware. The letters x.x.x or x-x-x represent the version number of the Dante Firmware Update Manager.
  • Page 4  You may be prompted to restart the computer after the installation is complete. Before proceeding with the update, restart the computer. Connecting the computer and Dante Accelerator Connect the Ethernet port on the computer to the primary port on Dante Accelerator by using an Ethernet cable (CAT7 straight cable). NOTE If the computer has multiple Ethernet ports, no devices should be connected to Ethernet ports which are not connected to the Dante Accelerator.
  • Page 5 in the left side of “Network and Sharing Center” window, then double-click "Local Area Connection" or "Ethernet." The "Local Area Connection properties" or "Ethernet properties" dialog box will be displayed. Select "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", then click "Properties." The "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Protocol" dialog box will be displayed. Confirm that "Obtain an IP address automatically"...

    The Ethernet settings window appears. NOTE If there are multiple Ethernet choices, select the one that is connected to the device. Confirm that "Using DHCP" is selected in "Configure IPv4" or "Configuration." Click "Apply" if you have changed the setting, then close the window. If you haven’t changed the setting, close the window.
  • Page 7 "Open." CAUTION Be sure to ensure compatibility of the update files with Dante Accelerator. If update files other than Dante Accelerator are applied, the device will become inoperable. In general, do not check the "Override Device Matching" option. If this option is left unchecked, only devices that support the file can be selected, preventing update of the device with invalid or wrong files.
  • Page 8 Restore the connection you changed on the section "Connecting between the computer and Dante Accelerator." Confirm that the firmware version has been updated by the section "Checking the product version number." The firmware update is now complete.
