    MAKERS LAB Benno Premselahuis Rhijnspoorplein 1 1091 GC Amsterdam Removing and introducing material Switch on the printer with the switch on the back to the left. Twist the knob on front and select MATERIAL. Press the button. Select CHANGE and press the button.

Be certain that you also remove the thin strands of residual material from the Bowden tube which are attached to the material. Press the spool holder inside and remove the spool from the spool holder.
  • Page 6 MAKERS LAB Benno Premselahuis Rhijnspoorplein 1 1091 GC Amsterdam Place another spool on the spool holder. The material should run off the spool on the bottom, on the feeder side. Snip off the end, making a level cut. Select READY and press the button.

Now insert material into the bottom of the feeder until the feeder grasps the material. If necessary, you can press up the switch on the side.

In order for the material to adhere to the plate properly, the plate must be given a coating. This coating (3DLAC) is applied prior to printing.

  • Page 14 Interface Select the PREPARE mode. Select the right printer: Ultimaker 2+ or Ultimaker Extended 2+. Select the right material and nozzle diameter: Generic PLA and 0.4 mm. Check the dimensions of your model with ‘Scale’ (S). If necessary, adjust the dimensions.

Action menu The ‘Action’ menu indicates how long printing will take and the amount of material being used. Click on ‘Preview’ for an image of what the print will look like.

The build plate will be heated up to 60° Celsius. Once the build plate has reached the right temperature, it will move upwards and the nozzle will be heated.

The value found in Cura will be reasonably accurate. 3D print ready Let the printer cool down for at least three minutes before attempting to remove the glass plate from the printer.
