1-15. Resetting the Timer
The elapsed time of the EL display can be displayed by
selecting "EL Timer" of the expansion menu.
Generally, although "EL Timer" is only display, if the
ROM-28 board is connected, the timer can be reset.
When the EL display is replaced, perform the following
procedures to reset the timer.
About Expansion Menu
The following four items are displayed following the
advanced menu in the expansion menu mode.
. Guard Interval:
Generally set to "1/32".
. Audio Layer:
Generally set to "Layer 2".
. SYSTEM Timer: Displays the elapsed power-on time
of the unit.
. EL Timer:
Displays the elapsed power-on time
of the EL display.
Equipment
. AC adaptor AC-550/550CE, AC-DN2B, or battery pack
BP-L60A/L40A/M50/M100/IL75
. Extension board EX-819 : (Sony Part No. : A-8327-481-A)
. ROM-28 board : (Sony Part No. : A-8326-017-A)
Preparation
Perform the steps 1 to 4 of Section 1-13, and set the switch
S1 on the ROM-28 board to opposite side of DOWN
LOAD.

Procedures
1. Set the DC LINE switch to ON. After about 3 seconds
later, the status indications are displayed on the EL
display.

If the EL display is unlit, press the DISPLAY button.

2. Press the DISPLAY button so that the EL display is
unlit.
3. Press the CANCEL button and MENU knob while
pressing the DISPLAY button. The expansion menu is
displayed.
4. Set the cursor to "EL Timer" by turning the MENU
knob.

5. Reset the elapsed time of the EL display by perform-
ing the following steps (1) to (3).
(1) Change the cursor to "?" by pressing the MENU
knob.
(2) Change the value of the timer to "Reset" by
turning the MENU knob.
(3) Press the MENU knob to reset the timer.
6. Press the CANCEL button twice. The display returns
to the status indications.
7. Set the DC LINE switch to OFF, and remove the
ROM-28 board.
8. Restore the IF-914 board to the original position, and
close the R panel assembly.
