1-14. Setting of Serial Number
The Serial No. of the unit can be displayed by selecting
"Serial No." of the advanced menu.
Generally, although "Serial No." is only display, if the
ROM-28 board is connected, the writing of the Serial No.
will be enabled.
The "Serial No." written above is transmitted as "Wireless
ID", and used for identification of the unit.
When the IF-914 board is replaced, perform the following
procedures to set the Serial No.
Equipment
. AC adaptor AC-550/550CE, AC-DN2B, or battery pack
BP-L60A/L40A/M50/M100/IL75
. Extension board EX-819 : (Sony Part No. : A-8327-481-A)
. ROM-28 board : (Sony Part No. : A-8326-017-A)
Preparation
Perform the steps 1 to 4 of Section 1-13, and set the switch
S1 on the ROM-28 board to opposite side of DOWN
LOAD.
Procedures
1. Set the DC LINE switch to ON. After about 3 seconds
later, the status indications are displayed on the EL
display.

If the EL display is unlit, press the DISPLAY button.

2. Press the MENU button while pressing the CANCEL
button. The advanced menu is displayed.
3. Set the cursor to "Serial No." by turning the MENU
knob.

4. Press the MENU knob. The sub menu of "Serial No."
is displayed.

5. Repeat the following steps (1) to (3), and set the Serial
No. printed on the model number label of the unit.
(1) Turn the MENU knob, and set the cursor to the
digit to be set.
(2) Change the cursor to "?" by pressing the MENU
knob.
(3) Turn the MENU knob to set the desired value, and
press the MENU knob.

To cancel the setting, press the CANCEL button
before pressing the MENU knob.
The setting is restored to the step (1).
6. Press the CANCEL button twice. The display returns
to the status indications.
7. Set the DC LINE switch to OFF, and remove the
ROM-28 board.
8. Restore the IF-914 board to the original position, and
close the R panel assembly.
