4-5. Replacing the Tension Regulator Assembly
(6) Loosen the nut of the tension regulator shaft.
(7) Loosen the screw of the tension arm.
(8) Turn the tension regulator shaft with a slotted
screwdriver and adjust so that the position
data (HEX) of potentiometer becomes
specification 1.
(9) Temporarily tighten the screw of the tension
arm.
(10)Remove the positioning shaft (tension
regulator adjustment tool) attached in step
(4).
(11)When moving the tension arm to the arrow
direction by hand, confirm that the position
data (HEX) of potentiometer smoothly
increases.
. If smoothly increased, perform the step
(15) and latter.
. If not smoothly increased (position data
decreased halfway, etc.), perform the step
(12) and latter.
(12)Attach the positioning shaft (tension regulator
adjustment tool) again and contact the tension
arm with the positioning shaft.
(13)Loosen the screw of the tension arm.
(14)Turn the tension regulator shaft in one
direction, and find the position other than the
adjusted position in step (8) and that satisfies
the specification 1.
Repeat steps (9) through (11).
(15)Tighten the screw of the tension arm.
Tightening torque: 2.5 N.m (24.5 kgf.cm)
(16)Tighten the nut of the tension regulator shaft
and apply the locking compound.
9. Tension regulator spring adjustment
(1) Hook the weight of tension regulator adjust-
ment tool as shown in the figure.
Confirm that the position data (HEX) of
potentiometer satisfies the specification 2.

. Remove the knob assembly of the reel, and
install the bracket to the reel shaft.
. Press " ; " key of the PC and confirm the
latest position data (HEX).
Specification 2: 0700 ± 15 (HEX)
If the specification 2 is not satisfied, perform
the steps (2) through (5).
