1-1. Operating Environment

Avoid placing or using this unit where it will be exposed to
greasy fumes, steam, dampness and dust environments.
If placing or using this unit in these environments, it may
cause a fire and an electric shock.

1. Do not install these units near heat sources.
2. To prevent a temperature rise inside the unit, pay
careful attention to circulation of air in the place where
the unit is installed.
Do not block the ventilation holes on the outer cabinet.
3. Do not install the unit in the following places:
. Where it is subject to direct sun light or strong light.
. Places subject to severe vibration or much dust.
. Places subject to strong electric or magnetic fields.
. In a location subject to much electrical noise especially
subject to static electricity noises.
4. Precautions when installed in vehicle
. Do not attempt to operate (by turning on the main
power) the FDDR-7000 and BKFD-7800 while the
vehicle is moving. (Vehicles are prohibited from
moving while the FDDR-7000 and BKFD-7800 are
turned on.)
. The operating environment must satisfy the following
impact resistance characteristics and vibration resistance
characteristics for hard disks both while the vehicle is
stopped and moving. (The hard disk non-operation
specifications of impact resistance characteristics and
vibration resistance characteristics must also be satisfied,
when a vehicle containing a hard disk moves.)
