ABOUT VISTAVIEW-100
The VistaView-100 module is a CCTV switcher that accepts
4 video inputs, switching them to 2 video outputs. The
VistaView-100 module features:
4 video inputs compatible with any standard 75-ohm,
line-locked, black and white or color video camera
2 video outputs compatible with any standard 75-ohm
video monitor or recorder
A form-C trigger relay output that may be used to
start/stop recording, or to change from time lapse to
real time recording
An open collector video loss output that indicates when
video signals are no longer present on one or more
video inputs.
Modes of Operation
Normal Sequencing Mode — automatically sequences
installer selected video inputs to the outputs using a
common installer selected dwell time. This allows cameras
assigned to a given output to be continuously monitored
using a video monitor and/or continuously recorded using a
recorder set for time lapse recording. A control panel is not
required for operation in this mode.
Panel Trigger Mode — switches a specific video input to the
OUTPUT1 line on a momentary basis using a separate
installer selected dwell time, or on a latched basis as
directed by commands received from a control panel. A
control panel that supports the 4204 relay module is
required in this mode. In this mode VistaView-100:
Receives commands via the control's ECP bus
Responds to the same commands that the control uses
to activate the relays on the 4204 relay module
Allows one specific camera to be monitored by a video
monitor and/or recorded by a recorder set for real time
recording when an installer defined event occurs such
as an alarm or trouble condition on a selected control
panel zone.
HOW TO INSTALL THE VISTAVIEW-100
VistaView-100 should be installed by a qualified
U L
service person and its installation should conform to all
local codes.
The VistaView-100 is supplied in a plastic case that may be
wall mounted or placed on a shelf. To mount the case on a
wall:
1.
Insert two supplied self-tapping screws into the wall
with a 3-1/4-inch horizontal separation. The screw

heads should project approximately 1/8-inch from the
wall.
2.
Remove the VistaView-100 PCB from the case and
position the slotted holes on the case back onto the
screw heads with the holes for the BNC video
connectors facing down.
3.
On the inside of the case, remove the plastic strip
covering the remaining unused slotted hole and insert a
screw into this hole to lock the case in position. After
tightening, make sure screw head is flush with case
back to avoid contact with the PCB.
4.
Replace the VistaView-100 PCB into the case.
HOW TO CONNECT THE VISTAVIEW-100
When VistaView-100 is used with control panels that have
earth ground fault detection, a ground fault indication will
occur when video monitors, recorders, or cameras are
connected to the VistaView-100 that tie the shell of their
video BNC connector to earth ground via their power cord
or mounting bracket.
Standalone UL Installations : VistaView-100 is listed as
a standalone unit for CCTV UL2044 applications.
Panel triggered UL Installations : VistaView-100 may be
connected as a supplemental device to listed fire
and/or burglar alarm control panels that support the
4204 relay module except as noted below.
In UL installations, VistaView-100 may be
connected to panels that have ground fault
detection only if the local authority having
jurisdiction allows the ground fault detection
feature to be disabled.
U L
In non-UL installations requiring ground fault
detection, when possible, use cameras powered
by a power source such as a plug-in transformer
that is not earth grounded and isolate the
camera's mounting brackets from earth ground.
Connect a video ground loop isolation device
such as Vicon's V235GLTA Ground Loop
Transformer to the coaxial cable that runs
between VistaView-100 and the video monitor or
recorder (or camera if required) causing the
ground fault. Video ground loop isolation devices
are not UL listed and may not be used in UL
installations.
BNC Connectors
Use for video input and output connections to video
cameras, monitors, and recorders with 75-ohm coaxial
cable. Depending on the devices used, the maximum cable
length running from a camera, through VistaView-100, to a
