8. Reformatting a Disc

VR
New discs are automatically formatted when
inserted. If necessary, you can manually re-
format a DVD+RW, DVD-RW, or DVD-R
disc to make a blank disc. For DVD-RWs or
DVD-Rs, you can select a recording format
(VR mode or Video mode) according to your
needs.

Select "Format," and press ENTER.

Select an item, and press ENTER.
"VR Mode": Formats DVD-RWs/DVD-
Rs (VR mode or unrecorded discs) in VR
mode.
" Video Mode": Formats DVD-RWs/
DVD-Rs in Video mode.
"Format DVD+RW": Formats
DVD+RWs.

Select "Start," and press ENTER.
All contents on the disc are erased.
z Hints
• By reformatting, you can change the recording
format on DVD-RWs, or record again on DVD-
RWs that have been finalised.
• You can also display the Disc Setup display by
selecting "Disc Setup" from the System Menu.

You cannot reformat recorded DVD-Rs.
