Outputs Connections (see figure below)
There are six(6) outputs in the following combination: Switched normally open (NO), Switched normally closed
(NC).
a) Switched Power outputs:
Refer to figure below for typical device connection. There are 2 possible output type connections:
DC STANDBY OUTPUT positive (+), and negative (-) (Fail Safe). DC power is present in normal condition and
will switch OFF when the FACP is triggered. For Fail Safe operation Devices such as Magnetic Locks should be
connected to this output.
DC ALARM OUTPUT positive (+) and negative (-) (Fail Secure). DC power is not present in normal condition
and will switch ON when the FACP is triggered. For Fail Secure operation Devices such as Door Strikes should
be connected to this output. Outputs are fused at 2.5 A; maximum allowed 2.0 A per circuit.
4.
Fire Alarm Interface
Normally Open (NO), Normally Closed (NC) input or polarity reverser (R/POL) input from the FACP are available
to trigger the Controller Switcher Board outputs.
a) FACP Signaling Circuit Input:
Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) from the FACP to the terminal R/POL inputs poisitive (+) and negative
(-), (polarity is referenced in alarm condition) or connect the n/O or NC from the FACP output to the Fire
Terminals. Connect 2.2 K Ohm resistors (EOL) provided as shown in figure below to assure Fail Safe operation.
b) Normally Open (NO) Input:
Connect the FACP two wires to the fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in parallel. 2.2 K Ohm
EOL resistors are provided. (This input has a 600 mS delay.)
Note: connect a 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistor to the reset terminal. See figure below.
c) Normally Closed (NC) Input:
Connect the FACP two wires to the fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in series. 2.2 K Ohm
(EOL) resistor are provided. (This input has a 600 ms delay.)
Note: Connect a 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistor to the Reset terminal. See figure below.
5.
Fire Alarm Latch
The JL jumper will select the Latch mode
a) JL OFF will cause the Controller Switcher Board to latch on. (See Engineering Reset)
b) JL ON will cause the Controller Switcher Board to follow the status of the FACP.
6.
Engineering Reset Input
This input is available if the jumper JL is removed to latch the Controller Switcher Board upon receiving an alarm
condition. When the FACP resets, the Controller Switcher Board can only be reset by activating the Reset Circuit.
There are two (2) circuits for the remote reset:
Note: a 2.2 K Ohm EOL resistor must be connected to this input.
a) Normally Open (NO) input:
Connect the FACP two wires to the fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in parallel. 2.2 K Ohm
EOL resistor are provided. (This input has a 600 mS delay.) 2K2 resistors are provided.
b) Normally Closed (NC) input:
Connect the FACP two wires to the Fire input terminal with a 2.2 K Ohm (EOL) resistor in series. 2.2 K Ohm
EOL resistors are provided. (This input has a 600 mS delay.) 2K2 resistors are provided.
c) A Key Switch or Push Button may be used to perform this operation.
7.
Alarm/Trouble Output
a) Power Fail Fuse Blown:
Dry Contact Form "C": When DC power fails or a fuse blows this will cause the relay to de-energize.
b) Fire Alarm:
Dry Contact Form "C": When the FACP triggers this will cause the relay to de-energize.
