Description
The switch has two MPU slots. You can install one MPU, or two MPUs for
redundancy.
The ejector levers on an MPU and the ejector lever seats at both sides of an MPU
slot have pink marks.
NOTE:
The MPU section of the 12904E switch is located below the LPU section.

12916E switch—16 LPU slots.

12908E switch—8 LPU slots.

12904E switch—4 LPU slots.
The LPU edges, the ejector levers on an LPU, and the ejector lever seats at both
sides of an LPU slot have purple marks.

12916E switch—16 power supply slots, with eight on each side of the chassis
rear.
•
12908E switch—8 power supply slots, with four on each side of the chassis
rear.
•
12904E switch—4 power supply slots, with two on each side of the chassis
rear.
The switch supports N+N and N+1 power redundancy.
The fan tray section is located at the rear of the chassis. Each fan tray covers three
switching fabric module slots.
For good heat dissipation, you must install fan trays in both FAN1 and FAN2 slots.
When a fan tray fails, do not remove it until the new fan tray is ready. The device
can operate correctly if the failed fan tray is still in position.
Do not power on the switch when the switch does not have any fan trays installed.
The switch comes with all switching fabric module slots empty. Purchase two to six
switching fabric modules for the switch. Install filler panels in the empty switching
fabric module slots.
When the LSXM1TGS24FX1(JH243A, JH246A) LPU is installed on the switch, first
install the switching fabric modules in the first three switching fabric module slots
from top to bottom.
Remove the fan tray before you remove a switching fabric module.
