Gearshaft Linkage - Honda 1998 VT750C Service Manual

CLUTCH/GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
TORQUE: 88 N·m (9.0 kgf·m, 65 Ibf·ft)
Remove the gear holder.
Tighten the primary drive gear bolt to the specified
torque.

TOOL:
Gear holder
Temporarily install the clutch outer onto the main-
shaft (page 8-18).
Hold the primary drive gear with the gear holder.
Apply a locking agent to the ignition pulse generator
bolt threads.
Install the ignition pulse generator and tighten the
bolts to the specified torque.
TORQUE: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf.m, 9lbf·ft)
Install the clutch (page 8-18).
NOTE:
If the ignition pulse generator wire grom-mets were
removed from the case groove, reinstall them
securely.
GEARSHIFT LINKAGE
REMOVAL
Remove the left rear cover (page 7-3).
Remove the gearshift arm pinch bolt and gearshift
arm from the gearshift spindle.
Remove the bolts and left footpeg as assembly.
