TROUBLE SHOOTING

Problem
Neither the battery lamp nor the
warning lamp lights up even after
pressing the main switch.
With either one battery of the two
battery lamps lighted up, the
warning lamp light up after pressing
the main switch.
The cultivator blade does not rotate
even pulling the switch lever.
The warning lamp and the battery
lamp light up during operation.
The tool stops
suddenly. And the
warning lamp lights
up or is blinking.
The blade does not stop.

Possible cause
Battery cartridge is not installed.
Lock key is not inserted.
Malfunction of the main switch.
Battery is low.
Battery is not inserted properly.
Malfunction of battery lamp or
warning lamp.
The main switch is not pressed.
The lock-off button was not
pressed.
The lock key is not inserted.
Malfunction of the switches.
Battery is low.
The blade digs too deep, and
light up
the motor is over loaded.
An obstacle gets stuck on the
blinking
blade.
Switch lever is broken.
Install the battery carridge.
Ask your local Makita Service
Center.
Lock key is pulled out Charge
the battery.
Remove the battery, and insert
it again carefully.
Ask your local Makita Service
Center.
Press the main switch.
Keep pressing the lock-off button
when you pull switch lever.
Insert the lock key.
Ask your local Makita Service
Center.
Charge the battery.
Change the depth of cultivation
shallower.
Turn off the tool by pressing the
main switch. Then remove the
obstacle carefully.
Turn off the main switch.
Remove the battery cartridge.
Ask your local Makita Service
Center immediately.

Remedy
Insert the lock key.
