Appendix
If you forget the USER mode password, you will not be able perform
configurations and operations that require the password. If you forget the
password, contact the Service and Support Center
Before contacting a Sony service center, verify the following. If the problem
persists, contact your Sony service center.
The unit does not start (the POWER indicator does not
light) or operate properly
• Verify that the power switch is turned on.
• Verify that the power cable is connected correctly.
• Verify that the power cable is plugged in an outlet correctly.
• Verify that the terminator is attached correctly.
• Verify that the SCSI cable is correctly connected from the S-AIT library to the
host computer. Push the connectors into their receptacles and, if necessary,
tighten the screws until they are firmly seated.
• Verify that the power of the host computer is turned on.
• Verify that 10 seconds after restart the power is turned on.
• Try disconnecting the network cable, if connected.
• Verify that an error code is displayed on the LCD panel of the S-AIT library.
For information about error codes, refer to the "Error Code List" (page 78) in
this chapter.
• Verify that the transport lock is detached on the both sides of the library.
When you cannot obtain bar code information even if the bar code label is
affixed, the transport lock may not be detached on the right side.
