5.2 Trace Function

5.2 Trace Function
The L3 controller incorporates the function for self-diagnosis by hardware and software.
If an error occurs, the detail of the error is recorded in the internal log, so that it can be
read by the engineering tool when required. It is also possible to record the performance
of the L3 controller, as well as the contents of operation and data transmission.
The L3 controller has the following four trace functions:
• Error trace
Traces and records all error information regarding hardware and software.
• Event trace
Traces and records power ON/OFF and change in operation mode.
• Operation trace
5
Traces and records control operations from the OIS1200, such as mode change of tag or
sequence, and process alarm confirmation.
• Transmission trace
Traces and records events occurring in the Ethernet transmission line.
If an error occurs, read these trace records using the engineering tool, to study the
cause.
The trace records can be read using the engineering tool in the following procedure. For
details, refer to the "Engineering Tool - Basics" manual (6F8C0875).
(1) Log-in the engineering tool.
(2) Designate currently used system in the Current Setting of the Main Menu.
(3) Open the System Log from the Main Menu.
