2.5 Connection with Serial Bus

For connection between the L3 CPU module (or serial I/O expansion module) of the main
unit and each communication base unit, connect the module with the serial bus, via a
relay terminal unit, using relay cable.
• Use a screwdriver suitable to connector-fastening screws. Otherwise, the screws can be
damaged.
• To disconnect cable from the connector, do not pull by the cable itself. The cable can be bro-
ken.
Connect the cable in the following procedure.
(1) After confirming the orientation of the cable-side connector (male), insert it in the
serial bus connector (female) [SB].
(2) Tighten each of two screws at top and bottom of the cable-side connector by rotating
it clockwise with a Phillips screwdriver, to securely fix the connector to the L3 CPU
module (or serial I/O expansion module).
Disconnect the cable in the following procedure.
(1) Using a Phillips screwdriver, rotate each of two screws at top and bottom of the
cable-side connector counterclockwise until the screw completely come off the serial
bus connector.
(2) Holding the cable-side connector (male) firmly, pull it off the serial bus connector of
the L3 CPU module (or serial I/O expansion module).
