703 Side Mounts
Remote Control Installation
The 703 side mount remote control is standard for
30hp and larger motors (except the manual and
tiller models). In addition to throttle and shift
control, the 703 features an ignition switch, emer-
gency stop switch, and, on applicable models, a
power trim/tilt switch, warning buzzer, and a
push to choke.
Preparation
1. Select a mounting location for the remote
control which offers ease of use from the
helm, and allows full movement of the con-
trol lever.
2. Choose an unobstructed path for the cables
that will allow them to be routed as straight
as possible with no sharp bends. Measure
from the control head to the shift and throttle
connections on the motor. Allow an addition-
al four feet cable length for the loop. Yamaha
remote control cables are available in lengths
from 6 feet to 36 feet.
