● The hoist is located:
– above the set upper sway control limit (P83)
● License is damaged or missing.
● The TRAVEL control bit is reset.
Consequence: Braking at maximum deceleration
● The RELEASE control bit is reset.
Consequence: Braking at maximum deceleration
● The control bit for selecting the operating mode is reset.
Consequence: Braking at maximum deceleration
● A limit switch has responded.
Consequence: Braking at maximum deceleration
In MAN mode, operation of the limit switch is direction-dependent. In all other modes, it
operates independently of the direction of travel.
● A velocity limit (e.g. prelimit switch or override) is active.
The internal sway control system remains inactive during braking until the velocity limit is
reached.
● An error has occurred.
6.4.4

Braking distance correction (S_Corr) due to influence of sway control

Sway control influences the braking distance of the trolley. The resulting additional distance is
specified as the approximation "S_Corr". This value varies and depends on the following
factors:
● Effective pendulum length
● State of the oscillation model
● Output velocity
● Damping factor
The correction value "S_Corr" is output in all operating modes provided the control bits
TRAVEL, RELEASE or SC_ON are set to "true" and the drive is currently in operation.

Drive activation and brake control

Use of status bits TRAVEL_FW and TRAVEL_BW is recommended for drive activation and
brake control (direction signals).
If the TRAVEL control bit is set and the brake is still closed, one of the two direction signals is
set to indicate that the crane should start moving. Both direction signals result in a travel
command in the crane control system.
