3-2 Fibre Channel Storage Unit Installation and
Startup
This section explains how to install, connect, and start
the Fibre Channel Storage Unit.
3-2-1 Installation
Mount the Fibre Channel Storage Unit in a rack using
the supplied rack mount kit. Do not attempt to mount
the Fibre Channel Storage Unit yourself. Ask your
Sony service representative to mount it in the rack.
Note
To connect the Fibre Channel Storage Unit to the
DMW-S05NL-C Main Unit, it is required that the
LSI44929o be installed in the Main Unit.
Caution
• The Fibre Channel Storage Unit should always be
mounted by two or more persons. If it is mounted by
one person working alone, it may be dropped, which
can result in injury and damage to the equipment.
• Leave a plenty of space in front of and behind the
Fibre Channel Storage Unit, and make sure that the
ventilation slots are not blocked.
3-2-2 Connection to the Main
Unit
SDTV system

documentation for the fibre channel storage unit.
HDTV system
When using the fibre channel storage unit in an HDTV
system, connect one fibre channel storage unit to each
of the two fibre channel ports on the rear panel of the
main unit.
