42.4 Power amplifier

42.4.1 Add a power amplifier
Proceed as follows to add a power amplifier to the
system configuration:
1 Go to Configure > System definition > Power amplifier.
A screen similar to the one in figure 42.4 appears in
the main frame of the web interface.

2 Click the Add button to add a new power amplifier to
the system. A screen similar to the one in figure 42.5
appears in the main frame of the web interface.

3 Enter the data of the power amplifier (see figure 42.7
for an example).
Enter a name for the power amplifier in the Name
field. The name may consist of up to 10
characters. The name is also shown on the
display of the power amplifier.
Select the type of power amplifier from the Type
dropdown list.
Select the purpose of the power amplifier from
the Purpose dropdown list (Main PAM for a main
amplifier, Spare PAM for a spare amplifier).
Enter the hexadecimal serial number of the
power amplifier in the Serial number field. See
section 42.2 for information about serial
numbers.
Note
It is advised to include the name of the assigned
zone(s) in the naming of a power amplifier. By
doing so, error messages can be directly related
to the applicable power amplifiers.
Note
The serial number itself is not checked.
However, the software checks that all entered
characters are hexadecimal characters and that
the serial number is 8 characters long or is 0.
