TROUBLESHOOTING
If the fuel pump fails to operate.
TIP
• Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Front cowling assembly
2. Storage box
1. Check the fuses.
(Main, ignition and fuel injection
system)
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUSES"
on page 8-127.

2. Check the battery.
Refer to "CHECKING AND
CHARGING THE BATTERY" on
page 8-127.

3. Check the main switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-123.

4. Check the engine stop switch.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
SWITCHES" on page 8-123.

5. Check the fuel injection system
relay.
Refer to "CHECKING THE
RELAYS" on page 8-131.

6. Check the fuel pump.
Refer to "CHECKING THE FUEL
PRESSURE" on page 7-3.

7. Check the entire fuel pump sys-
tem's wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM" on
page 8-71.

Replace the ECU (engine control
unit).

Replace the fuse(s).

• Clean the battery terminals.
• Recharge or replace the battery.

Replace the main switch/immobilizer
unit.
NG→
The engine stop switch is faulty.
Replace the right handlebar switch.

Replace the fuel injection system
relay.
NG→
Replace the fuel pump assembly.
NG→
Properly connect or repair the fuel
pump system's wiring.
