The external motor is connected to the
cooker hood using a special control
cable and is operated by the control
panel on the cooker hood.
Connection of this appliance and of the
cooker hood to which it is connected
must be carried out in accordance with
DIN VDE 0100, and with local and
national safety regulations.
For extra safety it is advisable to install a
residual current device (RCD) with a trip
current of 30 mA (in accordance with
DIN VDE 0664, VDE 0100 Section 739).
The voltage, rated load and fusing are
given on the data plate on the
appliance housing.
Check that these match the household
mains supply.

Electrical connection

The external motor is supplied with a
3 m long extension cable. If the
control cable needs to be extended
further, or if it is to be connected to a
fixed connection point, the
installation must be carried out in
accordance with VDE 0100 / 0700
Part 1, and with local and national
safety regulations.
Equipotential bonding must be
carried out.
There is a screw connection point on
the external motor marked with the
earth symbol -, to which the earth
lead must be attached.
This external motor has been designed
to be connected to a Miele cooker hood
only and must not be connected to a
cooker hood made by another
manufacturer.

the external motor is being connected.
