6.11 Spark plug
6.11.1 To disassemble the Spark plug
Disconnect the spark plug cap (B) and remove the
sparkplug (A).

6.11.2 To clean and examine the Spark plug
1. Inspect the spark plug and clean any dirt or debris
from the electrodes with a wire brush . Replace if
the electrodes are worn or the insulator is damaged.
2. Measure the electrode gap with a spark plug gauge
or feelers and adjust as necessary by carefully
bending the side electrode.

6.11.3 To assemble the Spark plug
1. Install the plug carefully by hand. Then tighten it
with a spark plug wrench.
2. Connect the spark plug cap.

6.11.4 To do a spark plug test
1. Disconnect the spark plug cap (B) and remove the
sparkplug (A).
2. Connect a known-good spark plug to the spark plug
cap and ground the spark plug to the cylinder head
cover bolt.
3. Turn the engine stop switch/combination switch to
"ON" position.
4. Pull the recoil starter.
5. Check wheather sparks jump across the electrodes.
