Performing Regular
Maintenance

Cleaning Caps

Clean the caps once a week. Perform cleaning more
frequently depending on the environment and paper
being used.
Read the following before starting this procedure.
"Precautions Regarding Maintenance" on page 65
U
Buttons that are used in the following settings
A
Make sure the printer is on.
Use the l/r buttons to select the - tab, and then
press the Z button.
The Maintenance menu is displayed.
B
Use the u/d buttons to select Head Cap
Cleaning, and then press the Z button.
C
Press the Z button.
The print head moves to the cleaning position.
D
Follow the instructions on the control panel to
open the maintenance cover.

E
Hold the new, dry cleaning stick (narrow) in a
perpendicular orientation, and wipe the outer
areas of all the caps.
c
Important:
Do not touch the insides of the suction cap
(cap on left edge). The part maybe deformed,
and it may no longer be possible to perform
capping correctly.
There are a total of 6 caps. Clean the area around
the all of the caps.
