Check 2
(A) Turn the system off. (B) Remove ISA cards from ISA slots. (C) Turn the
system back on.
If no error message displays, perform Check 3. If the error message displays,
perform Check 4.
Check 3
(A) Reinstall ISA cards (refer to section 4.4) one at a time and test after each
installation. (B) Replace the ISA card suspected of causing the error (refer to
section 4.4). (C) Perform Check 4.
Check 4
(A) Reseat all memory SIMMs. (B) Test the system.
If the error message displays, perform Check 6. If the error message does not
display, perform Procedure 5.
Check 5
(A) Replace the memory SIMMs (refer to section 4.11.). (B) Test the system.
If the error message displays, perform Check 7. If the error message does not
display, perform Procedure 5.
Check 6
(A) Remove the memory SIMMs from Bank 0 and install them in Bank 1 (refer to
section 4.11.). (B) Test the system.
If the error message displays, perform Check 5. If the error message does not
display, perform Procedure 5.
Check 7
(A) Replace the system board (refer to section 4.19.). (B) Test the system.
(C) Perform the Repair Completion Process.
Check 8
(A) Remove I/O cards from ISA slots (refer to section 4.5.). (B) Test the system.
If the error message displays, perform Check 7. If the error message does not
display, perform Check 9.
Check 9
(A) Reinstall I/O cards one at a time (refer to section 4.5.) and test after each
installation. (B) Replace the I/O card suspected of causing the error (refer to
section 4.5.). (C) Test the system.
If the error message displays, perform Check 7. If the error message does not
display, perform Procedure 5.
Procedure 5
The purpose of this procedure is to determine if expansion cards and devices are causing the
system to malfunction. To perform this procedure, begin with Check 1 and continue as
instructed.
Check 1
(A) Remove all expansion cards and devices from the system (refer to Chapter 4).
(B) Test to determine if the original problem still exists.
If the original problem still exists, perform Procedure 6. If the original problem
no longer exists, perform Check 2.
Check 2
Reinstall the expansion cards and devices one at a time (refer to Chapter 4) and
test after each installation.
If the problem still exists, perform Check 3. If the problem no longer exists,
perform Check 4.
