Delayed sending

Your fax can send documents automatically at a preset time. This allows you to take advantage of lower late
night long-distance rates offered by some telephone companies.
It is possible to set the fax to send transmissions at 30 different preset times. See Sending a document to
more than one location for details, p. 6-12.
Follow the procedure below to send a document using delayed sending.

Load the document face down into the Automatic
Document Feeder (ADF).
See Loading documents, p. 3-3.
You can set the scanning resolution and contrast.
(see p. 6-2)

Press [Function].
Press [Timer].

Press [Set].

Enter the desired sending time (24-hour clock)
using the numeric buttons.
• Set the time using the 24-hour clock system.
Precede single digits with a zero.
Example: 7:30 a.m. = 07:30
• Press [Clear] if you need to re-enter the time.
• You can also use [l] or [r] to move the cursor.

Press [Set].

Enter the receiving party's fax number.
• You can enter the receiving party's fax number using the
numeric buttons, one-touch speed dialling, coded speed
dialling, or group dialling (see p. 2-18). If necessary, press
[Function] to turn its light off.
• If you use the numeric buttons, press [Set] after entering the
number to register it before going on to the next number.
