5.1

Handling diskettes

5.1.1

Inserting a diskette:

1. Check whether the left-hand opening of the diskette
is closed. If not, close the opening using the slider
on the bottom of the diskette.
2. With the label facing upwards, insert the diskette
into the diskette drive until it clicks into place.
5.1.2

Removing the diskette:

The activity light on the diskette drive must not be
on.
1. Press the diskette eject button.
 The diskette is ejected from the drive and can be
removed.
2. After removal, open the slider to write-protect the
diskette.
5.2

Handling CDs/DVDs

5.2.1

Correct handling of a CD/DVD

Only insert the DVD-ROM in the DVD drive if you
have clean hands that are free of grease!
Do not touch the unlabelled side of the DVD.
Do not write on the DVD and do not place any stick-
ers on it.
Never use solvents, such as benzine or paint thinner,
record cleaner or antistatic compounds, to clean a
dirty DVD.
Wipe off any fingerprints or dust carefully with a soft
cloth, working from the center to the outside edge.
The DVD is unable to withstand high temperatures or
direct sunlight.

5.2.2

Inserting a CD/DVD

1. Press the button for opening and closing the drive
drawer.
 The drawer opens automatically.

2. Place the CD/DVD in the middle of the tray, with the
label facing upwards.
3. Close the drive drawer by pressing the button again.
 The drive drawer closes automatically.

The CD/DVD drive is now ready. To remove the
CD/DVD, carry out the above steps in the reverse
order.
