Checking the Engine Coolant
Level
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
The cooling system is filled with a 50/50 solution of
water and permanent ethylene glycol antifreeze. Check
the level of coolant at the beginning of each day, before
starting the engine.
If the engine has been running, the coolant
in the radiator will be hot and pressurized. If
you remove the cap, it may spray out, causing
severe burns.
• Do not remove the radiator cap to check
coolant levels.
• Do not remove the radiator cap when the
engine is hot. Allow the engine to cool for at
least 15 minutes or until the radiator cap is
cool enough to touch without burning your
hand.
1. Park the traction unit on a level surface, lower the
loader arms, and stop the engine.
2. Remove the key and allow the engine to cool.
3. Remove the radiator filler cap and check the coolant
level (Figure 15).
The coolant should be up to filler neck.
