Overview
Audio mute function
Audio signals can be muted as logical silent signals
individually for each channel pair, channels 1/2 (or 5/6
in group 2) or channels 3/4 (or 7/8 in group 2) with an
internal switch setting.
Function selection for channels 3/4
Audio signals of channels 1/2 (or 5/6 in group 2) can
be duplicated to channels 3/4 (or 7/8 in group 2) with
an internal switch setting.
Using this function, you can multiplex two-channel
audio as four-channel audio even when audio signals
only of one pair/two channels are supplied. Channels
3/4 (or 7/8) are also processed (muted) as logical silent
signals.

Functions of the BKPF-106A

The BKPF-106A is a video/audio demultiplexer board
that demultiplexes AES/EBU-format digital audio
signals from a multiplexed 4:2:2 component or 4fsc
NTSC composite serial digital video signal.
With a single BKPF-106A board, separation of
multiplexed audio signals of 2 pairs/4 channels is
achieved.
From a multiplexed 4:2:2 component serial digital
video signal, a total of 8 pairs/16 channels can be
separated by connecting four BKPF-106A boards in
parallel or cascade.
Serial digital video signal selection
Switching between 4:2:2 component and 4fsc NTSC
composite is achieved via the internal D1/D2 (SDI
signal selection) switch on the board.
Note
Because of the limited space to indicate the signal
formats, 4:2:2 component is referred to as "D1" and
4fsc composite as "D2" in the indications on the board.
Demultiplexing audio group selection (with
4:2:2 component serial digital video signal
selected)
For a 4:2:2 component serial digital video signal, an
audio signal group of 2 pairs/4 channels (group 1:
channels 1 to 4, group 2: channels 5 to 8, group 3:
channels 9 to 12, group 4: channel 13 to 16) to be
separated can be selected with an internal switch on
the board.
The demultiplexed signals are output from the AES/
EBU OUT connectors as 2-pair AES/EBU digital
audio signals.
Function selection for channels 3/4
Audio signals of channels 1/2 (5/6 in group 2, 9/10 in
group 3, or 13/14 in group 4) can be duplicated to
channels 3/4 (7/8 in group 2, 11/12 in group 3, or 15/
16 in group 4) with an internal switch setting.
Using this function, you can obtain the same signals
from the AES/EBU OUT connector 2 as those from
the connector 1 even when only the audio signals of
channels 1/2 (5/6 in group 2, 9/10 in group 3, or 13/14
in group 4) have been multiplexed.
