5 Functions and configurations

The Connect S2 is delivered fully configured. No further configuration is required for assembly/commissioning.
If you wish to change the device configuration after delivery, please contact the support. All configuration settings can be
adjusted by the support team via remote maintenance.

Sensor scan

During operation, the Connect S2 performs a sensor scan at regular intervals on the frequency 2.4 GHz. All detected
sensors are filtered for compatible sensors directly in the device and duplicate data is removed.
The Connect S2 can acquire up to 1,500 sensors in one scan.
With each scan, a position determination based on GPS or cell ID is performed simultaneously. The data block generated
from sensor data and position is stored in the device until the next successful transfer to the server (upload).
If no mobile communication connection is possible, the Connect S2 is able to buffer the data (depending on scan interval
and number of sensors) for many days, weeks or even months until the next successful upload.

Sensor scan and upload intervals

The Connect S2 works with fixed combinations of
Sensor Scan interval
Sensor scan duration
Data Upload interval
Example:
Operation mode when set to configuration #5
Sensor scan and position determination
Scan duration
Data upload to server
TIP
Over 50 different configurations are available. The smallest interval is 3 minutes.
