Lubricating lifting spindles
10.2.1
Models with spindle oiler
Contents
Oiling lifting spindles
Applicability
VLE 2130, VLE 2130 F, VLE 2130 EL,
VLE 2140 EL
Special tools and
Spindle oil (1 692 871 003)
other items
The lifting platform is provided with a spindle oiler for
lifting spindle and loadbearing nut lubrication.
R
Check that the oil supply is sufficient at least 1x per
month.
R
Under certain conditions (e.g. heavy-duty use, low
temperatures) oil may have to be applied to the
lifting spindle.
!
Never apply grease, as this would clog the wick of
the spindle oiler.
10.2.2
Models with grease lubrication
Contents
Greasing lifting spindles
Applicability
VLE 2130 E
Special tools and
Multi-purpose grease
other items
The lifting spindles and loadbearing nuts are lubricated
with grease
R
Under certain conditions (e.g. heavy-duty use, low
temperatures) grease may have to be applied to the
lifting spindle.
R
The lubrication should be checked at least 1x per
month. Lifting platforms which are subjected to the
influence of the weather should be lubricated twice
as often (refer to lubrication chart).
10.3
Power transmission elements
10.3.1
Elongation of power transmission elements
Depending on the type of lifting platform, power
transmission elements may be subject to elongation
following installation and commissioning (e.g. V-belt
elongation, chain elongation, rope elongation,
overtravel settings, setting of safety devices).
Such changes are not an indication of worn elements.
They are normal occurrences during the run-in period
and must be checked and adjusted as part of upkeep
and maintenance by the customer. Non-observance
may result in failure which is then not covered by
warranty and any costs involved have to be borne by
the operator.

10.3.2
Adjusting chain tension
Contents
Re-tensioning chain
Applicability
VLE 2130, VLE 2130 F
Special tools and
Chain tensioner (1 692 872 241)
other items
Repeated re-tensioning is necessary on account of the
initial elongation of the chain. This is not an indication
of premature wear. After a brief chain run-in period
there is virtually no need for any re-tensioning.
R
Adjusting chain tension: Refer to Commissioning.
R
The chain tensioner is included in the scope of
delivery of the lifting platform. It should be kept in
a safe location by the operator.
Fig. 28:
Adjusting chain tension
!
The lifting platform must be de-energised before re-
tensioning the chain. The mount of the chain slider
is to be kept free from dirt and well greased (check
every three months).
i
Warranty claims cannot be accepted for damage
caused by operation of the lifting platform with an
excessively slack chain.
10.4
Swivel arms
10.4.1
Lubricating swivel arm joints
The swivel arm joints are to be lubricated as required,
however at least every three months (oil beneath the
locking screws). Lifting platforms which are subjected
to the influence of the weather should be lubricated
twice as often (refer also to lubrication chart on control
column).
10.4.2
Loadbearing elements
The loadbearing elements are always to be kept in
proper working order. The buffer mounts are to be
kept clean and free from grease. The spindles of the
turntables must be greased. It must not be possible to
screw them out completely.
