3.7.2 Offline synchronization

Function description
The "Offline synchronization" function can be used to provide connected and active
machines with new or changed configurations, when it is temporarily impossible to
access the machine via the Internet. The user must transfer the configuration to the
machine concerned. This is not done by the SINUMERIK Integrate system. This
can done with USB flash drive, CD, or e-mail, for example.
The user can thus copy a configuration on his/her PC to a local storage medium,
and import this configuration to the machine concerned.
Configuration (PC)
Configuration is done in the same way as for an "online" machine. See description
in the Section: Setting up functions.
Note
The user does not obtain any support regarding the issue of whether or not the
selected configuration is expedient for a machine that does not send any data to
the server via the internet.
Exporting the configuration (PC)
The user can export a configuration on the PC. He/she must select the
"Offline synchronization" function for this purpose.
The system synchronizes and creates the configuration file on the server. A
progress display will appear during this. Once the configuration file has been
created on the server without any errors, a "Save as" dialog box will appear, and
the file can be created on a local data carrier.
Note
The system informs the user if the current client version in the server does not
satisfy the necessary requirements. The system suggests the user the
configuration for the enabled client version.
