SINUMERIK 840C, OEM Version for Windows (BA)
Depending on the particular application, the traversing range of a rotary axis
can be selected to be either limited to less than 360° or rotate endlessly in both
directions. Endlessly rotating axes are used, for example, for unround
machining, grinding work and winding jobs.
Rounding axes allow a workpiece or tool to rotate into an angular position
corresponding to an index grating. On reaching a grating the rounding axis is
"in position".
Abbreviation for S5 -> user program, PLC.
The control includes constantly active monitoring functions which detect
disturbances in the CNC, the interface control (PLC) and in the machine early
enough to largely prevent damage from occurring to workpiece, tool or
machine. If a disturbance occurs, the machining operations are interrupted, the
drives are stopped, the cause of the disturbance is stored and a corresponding
alarm is displayed. At the same time, the PLC is notified that a CNC alarm has
occurred.
When the screen darkening function is active, screen and back lighting on the
operator panel are switched to dark after a settable time.
The screen darkening function is not implemented in the OEM version for
Windows -> screen saver.
MS-WINDOWS application that can be activated via the Control Panel. After
a parameterizable time varying figures appear on the screen and thus prevent
screen burn-in.
Slider that shows which section (beginning, middle, end) of a program or a
listing has been selected.
Two RS232C (V.24) interfaces are provided by the MMC module of the
control for data input/output as standard. The first interface is linked to the
operator panel interface on the operator panel.
The second interface can be used by the operator for data backup. Part
programs as well as manufacturer and user data can be loaded and backed up
through this interface.
Operating area of the control for data transfer
Setting data represent attributes of the tools used or of the workpiece to be
produced (not of the machine tool -> machine data). They are entered through
the operator panel or through V.24 into the control and allowed for
accordingly at the time of program execution.
A simulator module is a module
on which digital qualities entered through operator control elements can
be simulated, and
digital output quantities can be displayed
