Troubleshooting IGMP snooping

Layer 2 multicast forwarding cannot function

Symptom
Layer 2 multicast forwarding cannot function on the Layer 2 device.
Analysis
IGMP snooping is not enabled.
Solution
1.
Use the display igmp-snooping command to display IGMP snooping status.
2.
If IGMP snooping is not enabled, use the igmp-snooping command in system view to enable IGMP
snooping globally. Then, use the igmp-snooping enable command in VLAN view to enable IGMP
snooping for the VLAN.
3.
If IGMP snooping is enabled globally but not enabled for the VLAN, use the igmp-snooping enable
command in VLAN view to enable IGMP snooping for the VLAN.
4.
If the problem persists, contact HP Support.

Multicast group filter does not work

Symptom
Hosts can receive multicast data from multicast groups that are not permitted by the multicast group filter.
