Updating Files on the Hard Drive

It may be necessary to occasionally update a driver or replace a file on the compact
flash card (the RCP "hard drive"), which contains the operating system and software
programs for the RCP.
To protect the system, the compact flash card is partitioned into C:/ and D:/ drives:
The C:/ Drive contains the operating system and software programs for the RCP.
The C:/ drive is protected by the Enhanced Write Filter (EWF) and cannot be
overwritten unless the new files are committed by the operator (see below) or the
EWF is disabled (page 34).
The D:/ Drive contains camera information and settings that are updated during
operation. The D:/ drive is not protected.
The "hard drive" tools on the RCP Configuration screen (Figure 16) allow the user to
view and manage the files contained on the compact flash card:
Tool
Description
Commits pasting of new or updated files to the protected partition on
the flash card, allowing them to be written to the C:/ drive.
Enables Enhanced Write Filter protection on the C:/ drive, preventing
files from being written to that drive.
Disables Enhanced Write Filter protection on the C:/ drive, allowing
files to be written to that drive.
Displays a dialog box with Enhanced Write Filter status messages.
Displays the contents of the flash card in the Explorer view.
