5. DIAGNOSIS

5.1 TROUBLESHOOTING

Check that the AC adapter is securely connected.
Is 5-V power output from
the AC adapter?
Yes
Is 5-V power properly output
from the DSP PCBAssy?
Yes
The UCOM (IC24 and IC25) is in failure.
Yes
Is the oscillator oscillating at 24 MHz?
IC24: X2
IC25: X3
Yes
Check that the USB cable is securely connected.
Check whether USB communication
line is fixed at "H" or "L".
Yes
Does not the part on the USB line
have the abnormality?
Part: D8 to D11, L16
Yes
Check that the corresponding wires are properly
connected.
Is the inoperable switch a direct
or matrix key?
Matrix key
Check whether the corresponding switch is defective
or the matrix circuitry is defective.
Is there another disabled key in the same
segment (SG**) or on the same signal
line (K**) of the matrix circuitry?
Yes

The AC adapter is in failure.
Replace the AC adapter.
Q1, Q2 or Q47 is defective.
No
Replace the defective part. Still when trouble is not
repaired, replace the DSP PCB Assy.
The UCOM (IC24 and IC25) is in failure.
Replace the DSP PCB Assy.

The oscillator (X2 or X3) is defective.
Replace the defective part.
The UCOM (IC24 or IC25) is defective.
Replace the DSP PCB Assy.

The USB IC (IC21) is defective.

Rplace the defective part.
Rplace the defective part.
Turn on the corresponding switch and check
Direct key
conduction between the two ends of the switch.
If current is not conducted, replace the switch.
If current is conducted, the UCOM (IC24) is defective.
Replace the DSP PCB Assy.
Turn on the corresponding switch and check
No
conduction between the two ends of the switch.
If current is not conducted, replace the switch.
If the segment or signal line in question is on
CONTROL PCB Assy A/B, IC505 is defective.
If it is on the MIX PCB Assy, IC703 is defective.
Replace the defective part.
