2. Place a drain pan under the hub, remove the plug, and
allow the oil to drain.
3. When all of the oil has drained, position the wheel so
that the plug hole is at the ten or two o'clock position.
4. Place a drain pan under the brake housing on the other
side of the wheel (Fig. 70).
5. Remove the plug from the bottom of the housing and
allow the oil to drain.
6. When all of the oil has drained, install the plug in the
housing.
7. Add approximately 16 oz. (0.5 l) of high quality SAE
85W-140 wt. gear lube to the planetary fill hole (at the
ten or two o'clock position) until the level is up to the
bottom of the brake housing check hole. Install the
plug.
8. Repeat the procedure on the opposite gear assembly.

Lubricant
Change the oil initially after the first 200 hours of operation
and every 800 hours of operation thereafter.
1. Position the machine on a level surface.
2. Clean the area around the 3 drain plugs, 1 on each end
and 1 in the center (Fig. 71).
3. Remove the check plugs to ease in draining of the oil.
4. Remove the drain plugs and allow the oil to drain into
the pans.

5. Clean the area around the drain plug on the bottom of
the gear box (Fig. 72).
6. Remove the drain plug from the gear box and allow the
oil to drain into a pan. Remove the fill plug to ease in
draining of the oil.

7. Add enough oil to bring the level up to the bottom of
the check plug holes; refer to Checking the Rear Axle
Lubricant, page 18, and Checking the Rear Axle Gear
Box Lubricant, page 18.
8. Install the plugs.
