The sleep timer on the Bose Wave Music System IV counts down and turns off the system after the set time. If it does not turn off the radio, it may not have been set correctly or may have been canceled. To cancel the sleep timer, press and release the SLEEP button until "SLEEP - OFF" appears on the display. If more than 10 seconds elapse between button presses during setup, the system exits sleep timer mode automatically.

I have a Bose 417788-WMS. How do I connect to my newer TV. I have 2- hdmi ports, one is used for TV cable box. There's a USB port, and a phone jack. I've tried a double male cord and no volume could be heard. I'm wondering if theres and newer cords available. This unit has never been used.

The Bose Wave Music System IV does not have HDMI or USB audio input ports. To connect it to a newer TV with HDMI and USB ports, use the TV’s headphone output or audio output with a 3.5 mm stereo audio cable. Connect one end of the 3.5 mm cable to the TV’s audio out or headphone jack and the other end to the AUX IN port on the back of the Bose system. If the TV only has HDMI or digital audio output, you will need a digital-to-analog audio converter with a 3.5 mm output.
