Freezing and storing food
Do not store food in the "switched
off" drawers as large fluctuations
may occur in these drawers, thus
causing food to spoil.
Example
You need only three freezer drawers,
plus the freezer tray, to store food.
^ Place food in the top three drawers.
All other drawers remain empty.
^ Pull out the fourth freezer drawer from
the top and store it outside the
freezer.
^ Slide the isolation plate (print facing
upwards) under the third drawer
from the top.
The remaining drawers are now
"switched off" (isolated).

Storing frozen food

When buying frozen food to store in
your freezer, check
– that the packaging is not damaged,
– the use-by date,
– the temperature at which the frozen
food is being stored in the shop. The
length of time it can be kept is
reduced if it has been stored at a
temperature warmer than -18 °C.
^ Buy frozen food once you have
finished the rest of your shopping,
and wrap it in newspaper or use a
cool bag or cool box to transport it.
^ Place it in the freezer as soon as
possible.
Do not refreeze defrosted or partially
defrosted food. Defrosted food may
only be refrozen after it has been
cooked.
