MAINTENANCE

Cleaning
WARNING: Blow dirt and dust off with clean, dry air at least once
a week. To minimize the risk of eye injury, always wear ANSI Z87.1
approved eye protection when performing this.
WARNING: Never use solvents or other harsh chemicals for
cleaning the non-metallic parts of the tool. These chemicals may
weaken the plastic materials used in these parts. Use a cloth
dampened only with water and mild soap. Never let any liquid get
inside the tool; never immerse any part of the tool into a liquid.
CHARGER CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING: Shock hazard. Disconnect the charger from the AC
outlet before cleaning. Dirt and grease may be removed from the
exterior of the charger using a cloth or soft non-metallic brush. Do not
use water or any cleaning solutions.

PROBABLE CAUSE
SOLUTION
• Need to re-initialize
• Remove unit from the
wall. When the "Begin
Scanning" screen
appears, press the OK
button (I). Ensure that
the unit is off of the wall
surface and that there is
nothing such as a hand or
other object on the back
surface. Press the OK
button (I) to complete the
initialization process.
• Too narrow of area
• Re-map larger area
mapped
• Scan slowly
• Diffi culty in scanning
• Scan in a straight line
below special wall
• Review the Detection
condition
through Special Surface
Conditions section of the
manual
• Scan in both the horizontal
and vertical directions
• Ensure that the unit is
at least 6" (150 mm)
away from the wall when
powering on
• Metal items too
• Scan in both horizontal
deep
and vertical straight
lines. Metal sensitivity is
increased when the metal
object is parallel to the
sensor. NOTE: The metal
sensing is located at the
bottom of the unit.
