ASSEMBLY INSTALLING THE CUTTING HEAD SHIELD Screws (2) WARNING: To prevent serious personal injury, never operate the unit without the cutting head shield in place. USING THE RIGHT FUEL The use of old fuel is the most common cause of performance problems. Use only fresh, clean unleaded gasoline. NOTE: This unit has a four-cycle engine. DO NOT mix oil with gasoline. Definition of Blended Fuels Today's fuels are often a blend of gasoline and oxygenates such as ethanol, methanol or MTBE (ether).
STARTING AND STOPPING WARNING: Operate this unit only in a well-ventilated Off (O) / Stop outdoor area. Carbon monoxide exhaust fumes can be lethal in a confined area. Removing Old Trimming Line and Obstructions If necessary, remove any old trimming line and/or obstructions from the cutting head. 1. Firmly press in the tabs on the cutting head (Fig. 16). 2. Remove the spool cover (Fig. 16). 3. Remove any old trimming line and/or obstructions. 4.

MAINTAINING THE AIR FILTER WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, always stop the engine and allow it to cool before cleaning or maintaining the unit. Failure to maintain the air filter can result in poor performance or Fill Line can cause permanent damage to the engine. Engine failure due to improper air filter maintenance is not covered by the product warranty.
