8) Remove U-bolt nuts (5) from both sides and withdraw
plates (6).
9) Install both front wheels without tightening nuts and bring
down the vehicle till the wheels rest on the ground and leaf
springs become separated from the axle.
10) Remove U-bolts.
11) Loose all spring bolts, remove front bolts (7) and disconnect
leaf springs from front connection, to framework.
12) Lift vehicle front part and place trestles at the framework
(behind the wheels) to keep the vehicle in such position
combined with the hydraulic lifting device.
WARNING:
Be sure that the vehicle stays firmly on the trestles
and that they are firmly resting on the ground
13) Remove vehicle front drive shaft assembly, pulling from the
front part and moving it with its own wheels.
Installation
1) To carry out front drive shaft assembly install, reverse removal
procedures noting followings remarks and tightening torques:
NOTE:
• With leaf springs under tension, move shaft housing
to put in coincidence the screw head and its lodging
within the axle housing.
• Tighten nuts from bolts and bolts when the vehicle is
fully resting on leaf springs.
Tightening torque of nuts and bolts fixing leaf springs
to framework and shacle plates:
9,5 Kg-m (95 Nm)
Tightening torque of U-bolts nuts:
7 Kg-m (70 Nm)
Tightening torque for screws fixing brake caliper to support:
3,1 ÷ 3,5 Kg-m (31 ÷ 35 Nm)
Tightening torque of screws and nuts fixing the
proppeler shaft:
2,8 ÷ 3,5 Kg-m (28 ÷ 35 Nm)
• Lighten wheel nuts following the steps sequence
shown in the figure and apply the specified tightening
torque:
Tightening torque:
11 ÷17 Kg-m (110÷170Nm)
