A 2004 Bombardier Quest Max ATV could be stuck in park with a loose shift stick due to the following possible causes:

1. Transmission Lock Mechanism Issue – The transmission may have a lock mechanism preventing the shift lever from working.
2. High Engine Idle Speed – If the engine idle speed is set too high, it may prevent proper shifting. Adjust the idle speed according to specifications.
3. Dirty or Worn CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) – A dirty or worn CVT can cause shifting problems. Contact an authorized Bombardier ATV dealer for inspection and maintenance.

If the issue persists, professional servicing may be required.
