    To install the batteries: ✳ Remove the battery compartment (on the back with two tabs). ✳ Insert 4 new or recharged batteries (AA) ✳ Snap the battery compartment lid back ✳ The battery life will depend on if you are using a condenser mic with the 660”s power or if you are using a condenser mic with its own internal power.

    PROFESSIONAL Compact Flash Card The PMD660 records directly onto a Compact Flash card (CF), which range in size from 1 GB to 8 GB and are very affordable. Format the Compact Flash Card If the CF card is formatted other than FAT16 or FAT32, reformat in your computer.

    Recording ✳ Press the record button. ✳ To stop recording press the stop/cancel button. ✳ Press the record button again to create an additional track while recording. ✳ To adjust input levels, use the dial on the bottom of the PMD660. The levels will be indicated by the lights.

    PROFESSIONAL Microphone Recommendations Marantz recommends using a condenser microphone. The unit will provide phantom power for condenser mics, but it’s a good idea to use a mic with its own external power. Before recording, make sure that you are using the correct microphone.
