Intermittent gear sticking in a Ford B-Max that clears after restarting the engine may be related to issues with the Powershift automatic gearbox. The gearbox is known to be problematic, especially if the fluid level has not been maintained. Additionally, a dead battery or electrical issues can cause transmission malfunctions, as seen when a battery replacement led to a "transmission malfunction service now" code. Restarting the engine may temporarily reset the system, but underlying issues such as low transmission fluid or an electronic fault may still need attention.
