CHECKING THE TIMING CHAIN TENSIONER

1. Check:
• timing chain tensioner
Cracks/damage
2. Check:
• one-way cam operation
Rough movement
chain tensioner.
3. Check:
• cap bolt
• o-ring New
• spring
• one-way cam
• gasket New
• timing chain tensioner rod
Damage/wear
part(s).

a. Removing the spring and cap bolt.
b. Return cam chain tensioner one way cam.
Press tensioner rod to the cam chain
tensioner housing.
Installing the spring and cap bolt.
c.
Loosen the front end of cam chain tensioner
d.
slowly.
e.
Make sure to return to the front end of cam
chain tensioner.
