General knowledge of pulse oximetry and an understanding of the features and functions of the Rad-8 are a prerequisite for its proper use. Always use a hospital grade, AC power cable to connect the pulse oximeter to an AC power source. CAUTION: DO NOT CONNECT THE RAD-8 PULSE OXIMETER TO AN AC OUTLET CONTROLLED BY A SWITCH. Verify the AC power voltage and frequency before use. Verify that the power source can provide adequate power rating as indicated on the rear panel. -

PULSE OXIMETER IS CONNECTED TO THE AC MAIN POWER SUPPLY. INITIAL INSTALLATION Place the Rad-8 on a stable hard flat surface near the patient. Always place the Rad- on a dry surface. Maintain a minimum of 1 inch (2.54 cm) free space around the device. -

Use only Masimo sensors for pulse oximetry measurements. Tissue damage can be caused by incorrect application or use of a sensor, for example by wrapping the sensor too tightly. -
